WOT skins

This does NOT work anymore, use WOT SKIN INSTALLER instead!

In this tutorial you will learn how to change tank skins in World of Tanks.  Changing the skins are easy and even noob players are able to do that 🙂

  1. download the skin
  2. locate the folder where WoT is installed (you can locate it by right-clicking on WOT icon and then opening Properties >> Open file location) by default it is installed in C:GamesWorld_of_Tanks folder.
  3. skins are located in folder resvehicles classified by country, find the tank/folder which you are changing skin. In this tutorial we are changing soviet’s T34 tank skin

    step 3. T34 folder

  4. backup! default skin by simply copying/pasting the folder. Having backup will be helpful if something goes wrong…

    step 4. backup folder

  5. In the original folder (not the backuped one!) replace the default .dds skin files with the downloaded ones

step 5. - Overwrite default .dds files

  6. that is it, now start and play the game with new skins

TIP: you can change the skin while game is running and you are in your garage. Replace the files, select another tank in garage and then select back the one you have changed skin. The fresh new skin will appear on vehicle

I have a problem. I can’t find the original “dds” files. I found the “vehicles” folder but not like you did; I have: “D:GAMESInstallWorld_of_TanksWOTresscriptsitem_defsvehicles” AND MORE IMPORTANT there all are “xml” files, not “dds”. So please help me if you can.

Since some earlier version of WoT things have changed, thus use WoT Skins and Mods Installer instead
